NEWS

Thor learned how to spell and write his name. He's been having a hard time with the 'K', but he has finally figured it out. So proud - sniff**.

Mr. Fantastic loves to sing. Last week he was given a paper that told about an audition for the "Voices across Nebraska" group. It's kind of like All-State choir in high school except it's for 4th, 5th & 6th graders. They practice for the next few months their selected music and then they'll all meet in Sidney in February for one final practice and the performance.
The kids were to audition with "My Country, Tis of Thee" on Monday morning, so Mr. Fantastic came home and started "singing". (He is so awful to listen to, I'm not joking.) I took pity on him and started playing it on the piano and helping him to learn the words, rythym and notes. The boy can't sing - but I was really hoping he has some genes in there that help him to learn music quickly like his Mama.  Popeye told him if he made the group that I would pay him $20. (Thanks Babe.) So he kept singing and singing. He prayed and he got a blessing. He was so nervous and excited.
Well, he found out today that he got the part! Only a handful of kids from all the grades got picked and he was one of them!  He is so stinkin' excited!!! I'm excited for him, but this is going to infringe on my "homemade Christmas" and hat order time exceedingly. I foresee a lot of hours spent at the piano with him and listening to his music in the van on our drives.
But really, I'm super proud of him because he worked SO HARD for it.
So - Sidney Peeps, we'll be seeing YOU in February for the concert!!!

Dedication! That is awesome. You're such a good mom to help him realize his dream.

I think that those that have to work HARD for something get more satisfaction out of it. WTG for him and for you in helping him achieve his goals! :)
