Here Kitty Kitty Kitty... Hawk!

We went south on Saturday to the Home Depot to pick up some tile that we ended up not using. While there, we went to VoldeMart to get a binky for Grand Duchess because I left hers sitting on the kitchen table (and her spare was removed from my purse previously in the day).

So as we were leaving the parking lot, we saw a van with a sign that said, "Free Puppies". No thank you - even though they were UBER cute!

But then, parked to the side of that van was another van. IT had a sign that said, "Free Kittens". We were intrigued. So we turned around.

And 20 minutes later we were on the road home with this...

His name is Kitty Hawk. He's about 10 weeks old and Princess Monkey Eyes will NOT put him down. It took everything inside of me to get her to leave him home during church. Can you imagine it? Our family sitting on the back row, all of the kids with their church bags filled with pens, paper, scriptures, and ... kitties? Mew.

Anyway. We love Kitty Hawk. He is used to us now and comes out of hiding more readily. There has been only one poop accident on the first evening, but no more! It's pretty nice. He's furry and soft and playful and sweet. We like him.

A funny story to finish this post: tonight Princess Monkey Eyes was pretending to be a kitty; wandering around the house, mewling and jumping onto laps. Well, she jumped up onto Popeye's lap and curled up. Popeye: "Are you a kitty?" Princess ME: "Meow." Popeye: "Will you purr for me?" Princess ME: *fart*

It was the funniest thing and I'm still laughing about it!

Ah, so being a sucker runs in the family? We took home two strays not too many months ago. It was a good decision, even if it ups the grocery bill and gross factor of changing the litter box. ;)
