So I was over there at Laughadaisy's new post about having a valentine's day giveaway & thought to myself, "I think I'd LOVE a new look to my blog." So here I am, fulfilling Ally's wishes to post about HER post.
She specifically said that she wants to read about things I love, or my favorite valentine gift or food or whatever.
I have to tell you. My husband is amazing. As a hobby (and hopefully as a side career someday) he loves to draw. He's a cartoonist at heart & does amazingly funny work. Each year for Valentine's day he draws me a card expressing his love for me. I've kept all of them. And each year I look forward to another one.
I don't think he & I have ever celebrated valentine's day ON February 14th, however. His schedule usually doesn't allow it. But that's okay because then making reservations is a piece of cake! One year he surprised me with dinner and a movie in Longmont, CO. We got his parents to watch the munchkins & he took me to a wonderful restaurant. I don't even remember the name of it. It was a Czechoslovakian restaurant where they served ostrich, pheasant, and caribou among other more traditional dishes. I was SO excited to try the ostrich & Popeye was antsy to try the caribou. But wouldn't you know it, they were out. Because valentine's day was 2 days earlier, they hadn't gotten their shipment in. So Popeye ate pheasant & I had duck. I was sad, but I still remember it because Popeye had set everything up. He lined up the sitters, the reservations, and the date (ME!). And that is usually something that I have to do. (What? A date? Sitters? I guess I'm on it. Again. ) So imagine my joy in knowing that I didn't have to do anything but doll myself up!
So this year for valentine's day, Popeye will be working, again. And I'll make some heart-shaped pancakes or french toast for breakfast, have balloons sent to all the munchkins & maybe I'll make a themed dinner - maybe.
I wonder if Popeye is planning anything for me. Hmm. We'll have to see how this Valentine's day turns out.

Awesome! :)
You know, my hubby doesn't do much for Valentine's Day. I try to do something cute and fun for him, but he doesn't really get in to the holiday.
I thought I would make myself feel better by living vicariously through all you people posting about your favorite Valentine's stuff.
But now I'm just flat out jealous!
Thanks for entering the Giveaway. And good luck! :)
