I am giddy. Just giddy inside is all I can explain it as.
After several long months of waiting, Mr. Fantastic has been approved for SSI. Do you know what this means people? It means that he will be getting a check each month! But not that I care too much about THAT (it can be $10 a month for all I care). What I DO care about is that because he's been approved for SSI, he'll be approved for Medicaid, too. And that means that we won't have to pay for ear parts anymore!

That orange circle up there with the wire? That's the headpiece. One of those is $150 each. The bottom rectangle portion? That's the battery. One of those is between $150 and $200 each. The processor (connected to the battery)? That's a good $6k. The ear hook? I'm not sure. Not to mention a charger for the battery is $200. And the cool colors are $32 each set of 4. And we won't have to pay for it anymore!!!

HURRAH, HURRAH, HURRAH!!! From someone who wears aids, he has all my happy dances!!! I, too, was qualified for Medicaid and I can't tell you how happy I am that I was.(I had to swallow my pride, but when I found out how much my aids cost I swallowed fast!) Because of it I have new molds and who knew I could hear better?
