Tuesday Tip!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE my tool for hard water deposits.

What do I use, you may ask? Well, some people like pumice stones. I do, too. They get the job done. However, I don't like that you have to store it in a plastic bag to contain the germs - I'd rather just be done with it and get the germs outta my house.

So I use a piece of "plumber's screen" (aka drywall screen).

I get the medium grade (at VoldeMart) or you can go to a hardware store and pick it up in larger sheets. Go with about a 120 grit or finer.

Not only does this stuff work great on your toilet stains, but it also takes the scratches out of your porcelain sinks (you know those scratches you get from throwing pots and pans in there). I went to work today and took some of my screen with me and spent about 15-20 minutes on the kitchen sink. There is not a scratch in sight!!! It looks BEAUTIFUL!

And the added bonus of using the screening as opposed to the pumice stone is that you can tear it into pieces and then just throw them away when you're done with them. Also, you can fold it and manipulate it into small crevices (think around faucets and drains and under the rim of the toilet). And I know that if you get SUPER FINE drywall screen (and I'm talking super fine), it will work on your tubs and showers, too. I haven't tried it there, yet, but plan on it this week when I clean my own bathroom.

I just love this tool! Go get some! You'll love the way your toilet/tub/sink looks after you're done using it.

maybe I bought the wrong kind...but it doesn't take the ring off my toilet. I better get some gloves and get down and dirty! It drives me crazy!
