First Photo Shoot

Here's a background on the people I am introducing in this post:

Cap'n: My dear friend who also happens to be the captain of our volleyball team. Well, I'm not playing volleyball this season because, well, I'm pregnant. But anyway, she has been dubbed Cap'n.
Mr. Cap'n: is her husband, a wonderful photographer, husband & father (of what I can tell), and should be named something along the lines of "Eagle Eye" or "Photoshop Guru", but I like Mr. Cap'n best.
Ladybug: is their daughter. She's Princess Monkey Eyes 'best friend' and a cute little girl.

Well, Mr. Cap'n approached me a few weeks ago wondering if he could take Princess M.E. with him, Cap'n & Ladybug on a photo shoot in some sunflower fields before they harvested them.

Uh, YES!!!!! I've seen his work. It's very impressive. I was more than happy to doll my daughter up & even give her a touch of my make-up for this occasion.

The shoot was fun to watch. We were a little disappointed by the fact that the sunflower heads had gotten heavy in the few days between the initial sighting of them by Mr. Cap'n and photo-day, but he was able to get some good shots in. The girls always had natural smiles on their faces, nothing forced. That was great! Because while I was doing Princess' hair, I would ask her to show me her smile & it was always the "cheese-interlaced-with-pain" grimace. Whew! What a relief to see natural beauty shining through!

So this morning I picked up Cap'n for MOPS and she handed over a copy of the photos. ALL the photos. All the originals AND the tweaked ones. So, without further ado, here are a small few of my favorites! Enjoy!

Princess Monkey Eyes and Ladybug just having a fun time.

Mr. Cap'n actually photoshopped Princess M.E.'s eye in. The sunflower was barely in the way.

I love the look on Ladybug's face in this picture!

This is Cap'n.

Cute friends!

Sweet innocence.

I love the movement captured in this photo.

GORGEOUS! Mr. Cap'n needs to head on down to FL and get some pics of my girls. He's fabulous! It probably helped that he had adorable subjects to shoot ...
