Alright. I'm officially a happy person today.
I just got an email from Heather O. at Mormon Mommy Wars telling me that I'm the proud winner of a $60 gift certificate to MikaRose.com! They make modest dresses, which I am in dire need of - dresses, not modest ones, well, modest but... you know what I mean. So I won! I really like the Cynthia dress & the Halle dress. So I'm torn... hmm...
And then, Just before Christmas, Hollywood, over at Hollywoodflakes.org told me that I won one of her mice. You might recall the story in the Ensign or the Friend (I can't remember which one I read it in) about the woman who made some ugly mice for Christmas because she had arthritis... the story goes on, but I won't tell it. Anyway, I won a mouse! Yeah, it's a little ugly - but I think it's one of the cuter ones she made. Here's a picture of it! It finally arrived in the mail just the other day.
And then a little while ago I won a $20 gift certificate to Becky Sharp Designs. Ann over at Sharp Spiels hosted a Holiday Goodness Giveaway, and I won that, too! Anyway, Becky has some really pretty jewelry. I haven't picked anything out yet, because, well, I can't make up my mind. I really want some earrings but a pretty necklace would be nice, too. I better get on that, huh? She even does custom designs - so maybe I should make something to match my new dress!
And then last, but not least - We won our volleyball game last night. That makes our record 3-0. Last night we were playing against the #1 seated team & I was SOOOO nervous. I'm friends with half of their team members & I just didn't want to lose, but I didn't want to win. I was so conflicted! I'm glad we won, of course, and I'm glad it's over. We had some good rallies & I really enjoyed myself! I came home jazzed, wishing that we could've played longer because I was getting a pretty good workout. Anyway - we won & I'm happy.
So THAT is why I'm a winner today! Yes, you may touch me if you are close enough, and maybe, just MAYBE, some of my luck will rub off on you!

And Congratulations on the volleyball. I'm reading along, and you said "I didn't want to lose, but I didn't want to win." And I thought, WHAT!? Then I remembered, oh, that's just my husband's influence. On his side of the family it's:
Win! WIN! No matter what!! (ha, ha)
Okay. It's not really funny. I hate it, actually. But I have to admit, if I were playing a game, of course I'd want to win.

I've never won anything and I thrill to hear when other people do. Maybe you can share some advice to us poor losers? :)
