To Do or Not To Do?

Popeye comes home today! Well, tonight! But YAY!!!! So I have been busily getting ready for his arrival.

Here is today's To Do list. And so far, I'm kickin' it in gear and have a lot done!

• Call Anne to remind her about cleaning tomorrow (since I've been off for two weeks, just want to make sure she'll be ready.)
• Clean out the refrigerator. Eew! It's done already (I did it while the kids were eating breakfast) and there were some MAJOR science projects growing in the back. Gross.
• Make all the beds. Check!
• Pick up everything and put it away. Ongoing check!
• Organize the tools in the demo'd bathroom. Until we get the bathroom finished (which will be soon, I think) I've been keeping all my cleaning supplies & tools & painting supplies where the bath tub should be. It's pretty cluttered so I need to go through it all. Shouldn't take too long.
• Call Brenda to get my cleaning bucket back.
• Take Princess Monkey Eyes over to Alison's house for a little playdate after lunch.
• Clean the house*. I "hired" a cleaning lady (sssh, it's me. Don't tell the kids!) and she'll be coming while Princess is at her playdate. She'll be cleaning from 12:15 until 3:15. I put an asterisk there because I want to list what I'll be doing during that time.
• Pick up the boys & their friends from school at 3:15.
• Call Popeye to see if he got an earlier flight or not.
• Finish washing, folding & putting away the laundry. Almost check!
• Pick up Popeye in Cheyenne.
• Call the doctor to see if I can take Claritin because my allergies are kicking my butt!
• Put away the ladder & other painting supplies from my outside painting extravaganza.
• Clear off my desk. Check!

*The cleaning lady dusts all surfaces, cleans all floors, scrubs down the bathrooms & kitchen, wipes down the door jams, light switches & baseboards (of the ones I have left in the house), vacuum the lamp shades, wash windows, mirrors & picture frames.... I think there's more - but you get the picture.

I got a pretty good jump start last night. My friend invited us over to dinner last night so I didn't have a dirty kitchen this morning. I've already finished my room since the kids don't go in there. I started the laundry last night and after sorting only had to do 3 loads. Lucky me! So I woke up this morning at 5:15 (I know, I'm sick. I'm just so excited to see Popeye!) and finished doing laundry. I woke up everyone at 6:45 by putting all their clothes away. It's just so nice to have a clean house!

So Popeye will come home. The house will sparkle still because as soon as I get the boys from school we will NOT be coming home. I am NOT letting this house get messy. I thought I was out of money but I have $100 on my credit card so we'll be having McDonald's or pizza for dinner, at the park or in the van. And then we'll be on our way to Cheyenne to get Popeye!!!

So - wish me luck on my list! I need to get back to work! Time to make some phone calls!
