When standing on the podium to receive your gold medal at the Olympics (or if your child/spouse is standing on the podium), don't mouth the words of the national anthem unless you know them.
I know we all are training extra hard so that we can be like Michael Phelps or the May-Walsh duo and be completely spectacular at the sports we love - this is why I'm giving today's tip.
Now, I'm really pleased with the gold medalists thus far in the Olympics. All those who HAVE sung along have gotten the words right. Everyone else has kept their mouths shut. But seeing those upclose shots of Michael's mom singing along brought back the memories of other athletes in the past who have gotten the words wrong. That's pretty embarassing.
So, learn the words & when you're having your interview after your medal ceremony, I would like a big national "THANK YOU!" for reminding you to learn them.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
