Learning about the senses

Optimus Prime is learning about the 5 senses in kindergarten. Last week I was able to play "Senses Bingo" with the kids while I was helping out in the class.

It was interesting to me that some of those little kindergarteners just don't get it.
"What does your nose do?"
"Smell."
"What do your eyes do?"
"See."
"What do your ears do?"
"Hear."
"What do your fingers do?"
"Touch."
"What does your mouth or tongue do?"
"Taste."

So we got it covered before the games started. And then we played.
"Calvin, we're looking for something on your card that you can taste. Do you taste sand?"
"No." (now pointing to a lightbulb)
"Calvin, do you put lightbulbs in your mouth?"
"No."
"Calvin, we're looking for something you would eat - or taste."

I just found it interesting that there were kids that just didn't get it.
(Optimus Prime does. That's good.)

*As a small parallel - my sense of taste is completely askew with these last few weeks of pregnancy. Everything is so BLAND and I'm very unhappy about that.*

That IS strange...I don't recall having a bland taste during ANY of my pregnancies...so sorry!

Your post made me laugh...I am glad that your little guy is one of the few that "gets" the five senses, out of my kids...Kory is probably the only one that would also! LOL

Oh man, that stinks that stuff is bland... is that better or worse than being hungry but nothing sounds good? Or is it similar?
