This & That

Yesterday Mr. Fantastic wrote a chapter book. It's called "Jigsaw S--- (our last name) and the case of the missing dead rat". It was very clever. My favorite part was when the dead rat was finally found and he did a trick - he laid on his stomach. That just cracked me up big time! At the end of the book Mr. Fantastic signed and dated it. I'll be keeping THIS piece of work!

Optimus Prime also wrote a book. His was a "one chapter" book about the Blue Angels. His artwork was amazing as were his facts. It wasn't a story - it was more factual. But very cool nonetheless.

Today I bought dowels to make secondary closet rods for the kids' closets. I went to Target.com to see how much they sell them for. $17!!! For a 3-foot rod!!! So I bought 16 feet of dowel today at our local lumber store. For $10. So we'll be cutting that down to fit in the closets and hang those tomorrow. Lovin' THAT sweet deal!

Thor is about to move in with the big boys. Wish us luck with that. He's very independent and I don't see this going well at all. But this baby will be needing a place to sleep - so Thor has to get out of that crib. Soon.

I still need to do my taxes. I DO have all the mileage recorded for Popeye's drill, my doctor visits and Mr. Fantastic's audiology appointments. But other than that, my spreadsheet is pretty bare. I'll be focusing on that next week since I won't have to work.

My to-do list before this baby comes is pretty long. One of the more pressing issues is a "labor plan". Not the plan I take to the hospital with me and give to my nurse and doctor. But a plan for if or when I go into labor. Who will watch the kids? What if Popeye is at drill (which is scheduled for the weekend before I'm due)? Who will take me to the hospital and want to witness the birth of this child? I asked Popeye if he felt uncomfortable with anyone being there (should he not be there) and his response: "Another man." So pretty much I get to choose from my girlfriends - but not really knowing who wants to endure that. (Just for reference, I get drugs so I'm a very pleasant patient.) Anyway - these are things that wake me up at 3 a.m. and haunt me for the remainder of the day.

This year I made New Year's Resolutions. Last year I made 1, I think. It had something to do with losing weight - and I did it. This year I made 18. That's right folks, 18 goals for 2009. There are 6 categories with 3 goals in each.
Here: I'll list them for you.

Health and Fitness: 1. goal weight = 135 (-) and goal size = 8 (-). 2. Buy a blender for smoothies. 3. Plant a vegetable garden
Spiritual: 1. 100% visiting teaching (Alison, we're committed, now!). 2. Have more meaningful prayers. 3. read and study along with the D&C lessons.
Family: 1. Have more family time together. 2. Spend more quality time with the kids. 3. Spend more one on one time with Popeye.
Finances: 1. Stick with my debt elimination calendar. 2. Save for my trip to Utah in May. 3. Stay current on my taxes spreadsheet.
Personal: 1. Take better pictures and know how to take correct exposures. 2. Scrapbook each child a minimum of once a month. 3. Finish the top to my quilt.
Household: 1. Finish the bathroom. (Seriously!) 2. Simplify = get organized. 3. Paint the basement.

See, they aren't too bad. Some are a one time thing. Some are ongoing & daily. Some will take a little bit of time t0 accomplish. But ALL are attainable. I figure if I list them here, then I'll be a bit more accountable for following through with them.

I guess that's all I have to vocalize right now. I'll be posting about random acts of kindness in a few days. Go over and visit Sara's blog if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Time to make dinner and get ready to watch Ghost Hunters International!

Your list of resolutions is huge. I followed the massive scrapbooking crowd and decided to do a one word resolution. (Choose one word to focus and direct your actions throughout the year).

I am inspired by your plan it all do it all WITH FIVE KIDS attitude.

Amazing
