Election Day 2008

Umm, I'm a little afraid to admit this - but today was the first day that I have ever taken advantage of my right to vote. I know - I'm a loser. I always had thought that my vote really didn't matter. So I never did it.

What about the last election? Well, I WANTED to vote. I really did. I saw how close it was between Bush and Gore. I knew that voting was something that I needed to do. Unfortunately for me, I had not re-registered in my new jurisdiction to do so. So when I went to go vote, I was nowhere to be found because we had moved 1 block outside the county limits. So it didn't happen.

I made sure that I got it right this time. But walking into the building to vote, I was filled with a bit of fear thinking that maybe I didn't register correctly again. Popeye had the same fear. But there was my name! And Popeye's right beneath mine. PHEW!!!

Princess Monkey Eyes joined me and I did my part. Popeye will head over to do his part after the lunch rush dies down.

So today - for Tuesday's Tip - make sure that you register in YOUR CORRECT JURISDICTION before it's too late to change it. And go do your part! Vote!!!
